Knowledge is a commodity

As we pass through life; whether we intentionally study and obtain degrees, or perhaps just gain skills and values by observing others, we never truly stop learning. Since the dawn of man, knowledge has been revered and prized by mostly all of civilization.

As we head into February, many students in our wonderful country settle into their studies for the year ahead at our fine academic institutions. Yet as stated above, formal education is not the only source of knowledge.

Why not read more this year? Perhaps attend night classes or community programs that teach a skill or brings information about a subject that has always fascinated you. Perhaps a new passion and subsequently a whole new business may sprout from it. At the very least it would make you a more interesting dinner guest.

However you look at it, knowledge is a commodity, a currency. It may be traded for material value if you apply your knowledge in employment, or it can be traded for company when you share your knowledge with others. Knowledge is a highly undervalued commodity and I for one intend to be the eternal student.

Here is to wishing all our customers a knowledgeable February!

Two industries worldwide rely heavily on the use of wood. Most notably would be the furniture manufacturers, such as Counter Point Furnishers. The majority of wood however gets used for paper. In the pulp and paper industry, the measure used for wood is a “cord”. This is a stack of wood roughly totaling 1.2 meters x 1.2 meters x 2.4 meters. From a cord of wood you could manufacture enough paper for roughly 1000 average sized books.
